Today we had the privilege to volunteer at Helen’s Acres farm! We not only learned how to harvest strawberries 🍓 and carrots 🥕 we helped bring fresh produce to families that have a greater need. It was heartwarming 💗and brought huge smiles on everyones faces 🌱 🙌 ✨ Looking forward to more farm days this summer!!! 😃 Thank you @helensacreskelowna 🙏🏽

Hi, I’m Purnima 👋🏽 Born in India 🇮🇳 → moved to the U.S. at 9 🇺🇸 where my bestie gave me the nickname Puma → moved every 2–5 years until I met my partner @tibofineart in Vancouver. It’s been a wild & beautiful ride!

I’ve studied at an international school in the Himalayas 🏔️, earned a Fine Arts degree in California, and worked as an art gallery administrator 🎨 and an urban farmer 👩🏻‍🌾 before going back to school for teaching.

In 2017, I became a certified teacher in B.C. 🇨🇦 and have taught in Vancouver, New Westminster, and Kelowna since. Shortly after that, at age 30, I became a mother—that and Covid shifted everything!

This year, my daughter’s ADHD diagnosis pulled me deeper into the world of neurodivergence and lit a fire in me to learn, unlearn, and advocate with my full heart 🫀

Through public schools, private schools, and outdoor programs, I’ve seen this truth again and again: Nature is medicine 🌱 and continuing to be creative is how we heal & grow ✨

This is what led me to start True Nature Kid—a space where kids can connect with nature, feel safe to express themselves, and explore who they are in community and on this beautiful journey called life 🌌
